Research FAQs and Referral Form
What does research offer patients?
Patients who participate in clinical research often become more engaged with their care and are inspired to take greater ownership of their health. Participating in research can also offer patients medications and devices which might be inaccessible otherwise due to cost or availability.

Patients are compensated for their time participating in the study, and may often get study-related medication and supplies covered by the study sponsor. All research is conducted under the oversight of expert research physicians, and is a collaborative process with their traditional healthcare providers.

Frequently Asked Questions
Might research medicine compete with my practice?
No, research medicine is entirely separate from traditional healthcare. Only research-related care is provided, and only for the duration of the specific study the patient enrolled in.
Will labs performed during the study be shared with me?
Usually yes. ERA strives to share any useful information and updates with the providers of research participants, and we often work with physicians to help determine whether research participation would be beneficial to their care plan.
What experience does ERA have in research?
Founded & run by local emergency physicians, ERA has completed over 155 studies across a variety of indications, including diabetic pharmaceutical trials, medical devices, neurology, cardiology, and more.
